The school believes in the celebration of achievement by pupils and staff.  Achievement does not imply only academic success but sustained or extraordinary effort, sporting achievement, good citizenship and outstanding performance or effort in any sphere of the pupils’ lives.

The teacher’s approval, both voiced and written on work, must at all times be the first way in which the pupils understand that they are achieving well.  There is no substitute for praise at the time of good achievement or effort.
